Summer Vacation - Part 1

We have come back from vacation and had such a blast! AJ had a total of 10 days off work and we went to the cottage for 9 of those days! Here's the recap!

Saturday June 29.

The weather was very cold and rainy, but that didn't keep us from fun! The kids played in their "new" clubhouse. It was one that their daddy built when he was young. They absolutely loved it! AJ did a few upgrades and is hoping to add some more fun things to it later this summer.

Later on the kids played in the pool on the deck. I added boiling water to it to warm it up a bit. We had a nice barbeque dinner, had a bonfire to warm up a bit, and then did a movie night with the kids. After the kids went to bed, AJ and I relaxed in the hot tub and watched the fireworks go off across the lake. It was beautiful. The perfect end to a lovely first day!

Sunday June 30.

Sunday was a bit warmer and it didnt rain. But it was still cloudy all day with minimal sunshine. I started the day early and everyone else was able to sleep in. I wanted to be up to make breakfast (Oma's special oatmeal bake). We all enjoyed it, yum!

The kids spent a lot of the day in their clubhouse again, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sun, and splashing in the pool. AJ and I were able to lounge on the deck reading while the kids played. So rare! While we were watching the kids play in the sand we found a baby Map Turtle that had washed up on shore. So we brought her up to show the kids and they wanted to keep her for the day. We later decided she was going to become part of our family and we all love her very much. Her name is Finley!

Monday July 1.
Monday was windy and cool, but the sun poke through a bit here and there. It was Canada Day! Our country's 146th birthday! We had a low-key relaxing day. Gramma and Papa came to visit and brought the kids some Canada day cupcakes for special (Made by Gramma! Yummy!). They put the sea-doo in the water and AJ drove it to the cottage.

The kids spent a good chunk of the day in their clubhouse, on the trampoline, and making mud pies.
